Lions News · Coach Bishop Earns 100th Soccer Win

Tuesday, March 19th, Head Coach Chase Bishop won his 100th varsity soccer game as Life School Oak Cliff’s Head Coach vs. A-Plus Academy.  What made this even more special was the dramatic fashion which it was won and all of the alumni present to be able to celebrate this with the team.  Those guys (former players) played a major part in this accomplishment and recent success. This is Bishop’s 12th year at Life School  serving as teacher/coach. The Lions started soccer 12 years ago  and were accepted into UIL 5 years ago (playing up at the Division 4A level since there is no 3A soccer).  During this stretch, amazingly, the team has been to four straight regional tournaments and narrowly missed going to State 3 years ago in a shootout loss in overtime. Assistant Coach and 3 time TASCO Assistant Coach of The Year, John Chobany, has also played an intricate part in Bishop achieving this accomplishment.  Chobany is as steady as they come and year after year gets JV players ready to compete at next level and is also Bishop’s right hand man during varsity games giving advice as needed. The Lions will be playing for The District Championship this Friday at 7:00pm at Dr. Tom Wilson Stadium vs. Williams Prep.  It is also senior night so come out and cheer for the guys and support our seniors.

Congratulations Coach Bishop, Coach Chobany, Players and all the Life School Stakeholders on this awesome accomplishment.
